LOVE THIS PLACE!  When you drive by, it does not look like the place to stop for sushi, but when I say GEM! This place is fresh, delicious, and the owners are so sweet! They always give me a free bottle of water and know that what I want without the masago. :)

I usually get the Hot Night Roll and crispy rice. I am truly never disappointed. The fish is always very fresh tasting.

Next time you drive by this place, stop and eat. You will not be disappointed. If you're not into sushi, they have a ton of other options like Korean bbq, plates, bento boxes, the list goes on.

This place is the epitome of "don't judge a book by its cover."

Probably 4.5 stars for what it is.  Solid sushi, rolls, etc.  Very consistent and of high quality.  Is the owner/chef gruff?  Maybe a little bit but he's "back" of the house and is under constant pressure to fill orders.  Not an excuse but the other staff are very pleasant and nice.  He can be gruff all he wants as long as he keeps delivering solid sushi.

I will keep picking up here.  The estimated wait times are always longer than what it ends up being by the way...

I love Tom's.  It is a hidden gem and has changed my mind about fast casual sushi.  I would not expect food this fresh out of a strip mall shack, but alas, it's bomb. The bowls are great.  The kalbi beef is so flavorful and tender.  The beef bimbimbap is legit and always comes with a perfect egg.  The sushi rolls are great, with huge slices of fish that are always fresh. There is always far more fish than there is right, which is the way I like my rolls.  Prices are great.  They take credit cards.  Location is convenient and they have parking in the strip mall.

The downside: service.  I have shown up to order lunch and been turned away "TOO BUSY!" without any offer to even let me come back or wait I agree with the other Yelpers who have expressed disdain for the service they received and I concur.  They tend to get very overwhelmed with delivery and to go orders.  I would recommend calling your order in advance or showing up at a very odd hour to avoid the rush and possible denial of service.

But for the price and quality of food, I still come back despite the abuse.  For me, good food trumps bad service.  If you are someone with food restrictions, find another place that will cater to that.  Tom certainly will not!  You get what you get.

I've lived near this place for years, and why it took me this long to try it, I have no idea. Well, I do have an idea. It doesn't look like it would put out some tasty sushi, but once you get passed that, you'll be surprised.

I stopped by at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. No crazy line or anything, but I was told a 30 min wait. I think this is because they do a high volume of app delivery and people who call in orders to pick up. A woman who arrived a few minutes behind me was told 50 min for one roll.

I ordered the sushi sampler B (8 pieces) and dragon roll.  The sampler had huge, thick pieces of fish. Two pieces had a little too much wasabi, but that is a personal preference of me not liking wasabi. The dragon roll was huge. I appreciated that the ginger/wasabi for the sushi was packaged separately so not to taint my fish with their yuckiness, and that the eel sauce was also packed separately so I could control the amount.

This is a mom and pop operation, with what I believe is a married couple running the joint. Since there are only two of them, there is only so fast they can make the sushi, and there is no one else to run things if they are sick, etc. Apparently they are closed every other Sunday, and I have no idea how we are supposed to know which Sunday's those are, aside from stalking the place. The woman was very nice to me and handed me my order with a smile and thank you.

This is a great option for take out sushi. There are about 3 small tables out front if you can't wait and need to shovel sushi in your mouth immediately. I'm not judging.

Bonus: parking lot, decently priced sushi for take out
Bogus: there can be a long wait time, which Sunday's are you closed?

Will I be back? Yes! Pleased to have found a local, easy, go-to sushi take out spot.

Delicious, fresh, affordable sushi. My friends and I tried it for the first time today and we were pleasantly surprised. The pieces of fish are quite big, which is also a good thing. Will be going back.
